A New Bedford man wanted in connection to the murders of three people in Fall River was arrested Wednesday, officials said.
Tajon Saxon, 26, was one of four people identified as suspects in connection with the fatal shooting of a man on County Street in Fall River in May of 2023, Massachusetts State Police announced.
Diamonte Odom, 23, died at the hospital from a gunshot wound to the face. Two of the accused were apprehended by a State Police unit, and another turned himself in, State Police said.
Ultimately, Saxon was found by State and New Bedford police hiding in the bathroom of an apartment, according to State Police, and was arrested without incident.
“Troopers assigned to the Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section work collaboratively with our partners every day to pursue, locate, and apprehend individuals wanted for violent crimes that negatively impact quality of life,” State Police Colonel Geoffrey Noble said.
Saxon was also wanted on a default warrant in connection with the double homicide of Jovaughn Mills and Miguel Sanjurjo in Fall River in 2021.
Saxon was put on the State Police Most Wanted list in January. At the time, the Bristol County District Attorney said he was the subject of “an intensive manhunt.”
Since then, police have pursued “leads up and down the East Coast – from Florida, South Carolina, and across New England,” according to a press release.
“I also commend the New Bedford and Fall River Police Departments whose integral partnership enabled the team to deliver this case to prosecutors at the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office,” Noble said.
Saxon entered a plea of not guilty on Thursday. He did not post his $250,000 bail and remained in custody.
Kenneth Van Colen, Saxon’s lawyer, told Boston.com he had “no comment at this time as our investigation has just started.”
