A group of juveniles kicked a man into a moving Orange Line train during a dispute at Back Bay Station Tuesday, according to MBTA Transit Police.

The 27-year-old man suffered an injury to his forehead after the verbal confrontation turned physical at about 6:46 p.m., the agency said in a statement.

Transit Police Supt. Richard Sullivan said the altercation happened near and on the platform area. He alleged several juveniles were trying to strike and kick the man.

“At one point the victim was kicked, the force of the kick propelled the victim backwards as an MBTA train was departing,” Sullivan explained. “It is my understanding the victim did contact the train.”

The juveniles fled, according to Sullivan, and emergency medics were called to the scene to tend to the man, who was conscious and alert. The man was reportedly bleeding from a cut on his head, according to a Reddit user who said they assisted him.

Transit police detectives are actively investigating the incident, with no arrests as of Wednesday morning, Sullivan said.
