Stoneham police investigating Thanksgiving morning armed home invasion

Cash and other valuables were stolen from an apartment on Fallon Road in Stoneham, police said.

Police are investigating an armed home invasion that occurred on Thanksgiving morning in Stoneham, according to officials.

At about 5:30 a.m. Thursday, Stoneham police were called to an apartment complex on Fallon Road. A man and a woman spoke with officers, telling them that two suspects entered their unlocked apartment while they were sleeping.

The suspects forcibly entered the bedroom and demanded money from the man and woman, they said. One of the intruders wielded a folding knife and punched the man, threatening to stab him if he made any noise, according to Stoneham police.

The intruders then “ransacked” the apartment and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and other valuables, police said.

One suspect is described as a Black man who was wearing a green and black North Face jacket, black sweat pants, and a mask. The other suspect is described as a white man with blue eyes who was wearing all black clothing and a mask, police said.

Officials do not believe that this incident was random, and said that there is no ongoing threat to the neighborhood. Stoneham police are increasing their presence in the area with additional patrols.

An investigation is ongoing. Anyone with relevant information is being asked to contact Detective Sergeant Christopher Dalis of the Stoneham Police Department at 781-438-1215 ext. 3133.
