Mika Brzezinski stops by Tatte bakery, asks Instagram how to pronounce it
The MSNBC host was stumped by the pronunciation, but still called the bakery "DELISH."
MSNBC’s “Morning Joe’’ co-host Mika Brzezinski was in Boston this weekend, and she asked a question that has stumped more than one local coffee lover: How is “Tatte’’ — as in Tatte Bakery & Cafe — pronounced?
Brzezinski took to Instagram the get answers.
“So me and @clhxphoto aka Cookie Monster here, we have a debate …’’ Brzezinski wrote. “We are at this great place Tatte … but is it pronounced ‘tat’ like tattoo for short? Or Tah-tae? Anyway DELISH …’’
Brzezinski, who recently married her “Morning Joe’’ cohost, Joe Scarborough, also posted a series of Tatte-based photos. The first was with her daughter, followed by a shot of a latte, and a the cafe’s “Avocado Tartine’’ dish.

The answer to Brzezinski’s question? Any local who has frequented one of the 11 Greater Boston locations can tell you that it’s pronounced “Tah-tae,’’ two syllables.
