Eric Wilbur has spent the better part of the last three decades immersed in the New England sports and snow scenes. His skiing and travel work has appeared in the Boston Globe and New England Ski Journal. He is also the co-author of "Thirty Years in a White Haze," an autobiography written with skiing Hall of Famer Dan Egan. He also continues his role as a sports columnist for Boston.com on a freelance basis.

The International Skiing History Association awarded Wilbur and Egan the 2022 Ullr Award for “outstanding contributions to the historical record of skiing, specifically in published book form.” It's considered the "Pulitzer Prize of Skiing" for published works on skiing history.

The North American Snowsports Journalists Association (NASJA) named Wilbur the Mitch Kaplan Award recipient in 2022 for "unwavering commitment to bring the joy of skiing to all and to give back to the sport." NASJA also named Wilbur and Egan 2023 recipients of the Hirsch Award for their work on "Haze." The honor recognized "creativity and excellence in editorial and artistic content in both print and broadcast journalism."

Wilbur was also part of the team that won the Pulitzer Prize for Boston.com’s and The Boston Globe's coverage of the 2013 marathon bombing.Â
